Welcome to a new week, !
This weekend, I drove down to Croatia for another seminar, diving into essential topics like identity, autonomy/independence, connection, and trust.
One of the biggest takeaways for me was this thought:
As entrepreneurs and leaders, we often prioritize independence, thinking that personal strength and success means doing it all on our own.
But the TRUTH is: We need both - autonomy & connection. Independence & trust.
Now, I’ve been there.
For years, I thought independence was everything. I felt like I could - no, should! - do everything by myself, rely only on myself. That this was true strength.

And I see this in my clients as well.
They want to be there for others, they actively empower and support others - but when it comes to themselves?
They keep to themselves and try to deal with their hopes, dreams, fears & doubts all by themselves.
But here’s the thing: Constantly keeping walls up, feeling like you can’t fully trust others or even rely on them - it gets exhausting.
We end up feeling isolated, anxious, sarcastic, even resentful - despite the external success.
And that’s mostly the turning point then.
The point at which they realize that they can’t or don’t want to go on like that.
That they are making life way harder for themselves than it needs to be.
So, today I want to share this idea and plant a little seed within you:
💭 What if true leadership wasn’t about going it alone?
💭 What if your greatest growth came from reconnecting with yourself and others?
💭 From building trust in yourself, in others, and in yourself in relationship to others?

Growing up in a family where trust was a constant battle and having been indoctrinated by the “self-made” ideology in my previous career too, I’ve struggled with this quite a bit myself.
So I know it’s not an easy shift to make.
But here’s what you have to ask yourself:
👉 Is this how you want to live?
👉 Do you want to keep feeling separate, disconnected, and alone?
👉 Or do you want to make space for something new?
Now, you know me, I’m all about practical change & growth, so if you feel that it’s time for a change, here’s how you go about it:
-
First, you build and strengthen your trust in yourself. This means to look at where you’ve been denying, abandoning or neglecting yourself, and then strategically nurturing these parts of your life. This way you'll regain your own trust.
-
Then, you start building trust in others, as well as trust in yourself in connection with others. This takes time and is an incremental, intentional process.
And I’m using the word “building” intentionally here. Trust is built.
It’s not a decision you make and then suddenly you have trust. It’s something you cultivate, test, reassure yourself of, and build towards - step by step.
